My Two Lives

Transsexual people find themselves in normal working life without attracting attention. They want to live undisturbed in their new role in the other gender. As the first transsexual woman, Valerie Wilms found her way into the Bundestag in the 2009 federal election without activist fanfare. For two legislative periods until 2017, she was active there as a member of the Green Party parliamentary group. She did not have to disclose her being different, and she did not do so.
This is only happening now to show what dangers arise for society when politicians unreflectively follow the influences of activists. With the new Self-Determination Act, woke, unrealistic politics are being implemented. In official documents, biological sex is replaced by felt gender identity. This can then be changed annually, even for children. Valerie Wilms is convinced: "Now we urgently need to find our way back to fact-based politics. If politicians, especially those in the Green Party, don't understand this, the Federal Constitutional Court must intervene. Otherwise, as in the USA, a strong anti-woke movement could quickly emerge here in Germany, with all the negative consequences for genuine transsexual people."
