About the Author

Christoph Meckel

Christoph Meckel, born in Berlin in 1935, studied graphic arts in Freiburg and Munich. He lived in Berlin and in the Drôme region of Southern France, and published numerous prose and poetry books which have been translated into several languages. His work was honored with, among other awards, the Rainer Maria Rilke Prize for Poetry, the Georg Trakl Prize, the Joseph Breitbach Prize of the Academy for Literature and Science of the City of Mainz, and the Schiller Ring of the German Schiller Foundation. Christoph Meckel passed away on January 29, 2020.
