Hannah and Ludwig

1933, Ludwig flees Nazi Germany for Tel Aviv. Barely able to speak Hebrew, he works his way up from orange picker to authorized signatory with great energy and a sunny disposition. Just in time, he brings his parents and siblings to Palestine, saving their lives. When he meets the beautiful Hannah in 1940 and they marry, a happy future seems to be on the horizon. But personal tragedies and political instability in the newly founded state of Israel make Ludwig and Hannah long for their German homeland. Together with their son Rafael, they return to a Germany where prejudices against Jews are by no means a thing of the past...
