The Great Energy Crisis

Never before in the history of the industrial age has energy been as scarce and expensive as it is today. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is only acting as a catalyst, because even before that, price explosions in the gas and electricity markets revealed the failure of the energy transition and the European "Green Deal". A misguided energy policy not only endangers our prosperity but also leads to rising food prices worldwide and consequently to famines and new waves of migration. The answer to the pressing energy questions of our time must be a technological energy offensive in Germany that includes all alternatives, from shale gas extraction to CO2-free use of domestic lignite to the development of a new generation of safer nuclear power plants.
