Farewell Without End

A morning, cold winter light. A man, a single father, enters his 16-year-old son's room and finds him dead in bed. Speechless, he wanders through his life from then on, trying to cope with the helplessness and death. In his narrative, Wolfgang Hermann speaks of melancholy, pain, and the efforts to retrieve their shared time from the past and make it palpable in the present. With his delicate, poetic narrative style, the author conveys comfort even in horror and allows hope to shine through.
