After holding various management positions in Switzerland, England, and the USA, he served as CEO of Deutsche Bank AG from 2006–2012, the first non-German to hold this position. During his unprecedented career, he experienced the banking, financial, and euro crises firsthand and met many great statesmen. Josef Ackermann is married to Pirkko Mölsä from Finland, has an adult daughter, and lives in Switzerland.
