After the violent death of her parents at the end of the war, 18-year-old Ella has to get her life in order all by herself. With ingenuity, unshakable self-confidence, and a good dose of chutzpah, she seizes the first opportunity and turns a dilapidated café into a popular meeting place. When her successful "start-up" comes to an abrupt end, Ella really gets going. If the term "power woman" had existed back then, she would have more than deserved that title. The men in her life are hardly a match for her energy. And even for her family, it's not always easy to cope with Ella's restless hustle and bustle...
