The arbitrary actions

The novel is the absurd attempt of writer Luise Abgottspon to guide her "client" Vera back to life. In a race against Vera's impending self-abandonment, she writes her seven stories. Each is intended to help Vera imagine a completely different scenario for a future life. These are provocative recipes with which Vera could break out of her misery: give up her victim mentality. Or indulge in desires for revenge. Become more alert to manipulation. Discover anger, empathy, and courage as means of self-assertion. The boundaries between Vera's real life and the life suggested as possible begin to blur. She begins to feel, think, and finally act in shimmering intermediate spaces...
