The Secret of the Essenes

What secret lies hidden in the Essenes' library in the desert near Qumran? Is there a clue to their legendary treasure there? Rome, 95 AD. The wealthy Roman Decimus Junius Juvenalis finds himself caught up in the intrigues of the tyrannical Emperor Domitian. Juvenalis' adventurous search for the murderer of an unknown deceased leads him to flee into Rome's underworld and from there, via Pompeii, to the rugged rocky desert near Qumran on the Dead Sea, to the fortress of the Pious. There he finds mysterious papyrus scrolls and meets the only woman he ever truly loved again.
