Anna's Tracks

The diagnosis was "congenital feeblemindedness." This was Anna's death sentence; in 1940, she was murdered in the gas chamber of Grafeneck in accordance with Nazi racial and eugenic policies.
Her family erased her memory – until her niece, Sigrid Falkenstein, began to investigate. With empathy, she reconstructs Anna's tragic life and, together with psychiatrist Frank Schneider, makes it clear: Anna's fate is exemplary of a horrific crime of Nazi terror, the mass murder of hundreds of thousands of people with mental illness, intellectual, or physical disabilities.
