Wolfgang Herles

The writer and journalist Wolfgang Herles, born in Tittling near Passau in 1950, studied literature, history, and psychology in Munich, where he also attended the German School of Journalism and earned his doctorate in contemporary literature. For forty years, he hosted magazines and talk shows for BR and ZDF. As editorial director, he was responsible for, among other things, the cultural magazine "aspekte" for ten years and "Studio Bonn," from which he was removed at the insistence of the then Chancellor Kohl. As an author and director, Herles created dozens of documentaries and wrote several novels and numerous political non-fiction books. He lives in Munich and Berlin.
