About the Author

Silja Behre

Dr. Silja Behre (born 1983) studied history in Bielefeld and Paris. This was followed by academic positions at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the Minerva Institute for German History at Tel Aviv University. In Israel, in addition to her work on the history of German-Israeli academic relations and intellectual history, she also (re-)discovered her childhood reading, Ephraim Kishon, whom she re-examined through the eyes of a contemporary historian.
