About the Author
Richard Dübell, born in Landshut in 1962, writes highly successful historical novels for adults and young adults, as well as screenplays. He published his first historical crime novel, "Der Tuchhändler" (The Cloth Merchant), in 1997. His third novel, "Eine Messe für die Medici" (A Mass for the Medici) (2000), at the latest, brought him to the attention of a wider reading public and became a bestseller. His books have been translated into a total of fourteen languages worldwide. Dübell also runs a writing workshop and works as a cartoonist and graphic designer. In 2003, the author was awarded the Culture Promotion Prize by the city of Landshut for his work.
