The Autobiography
„If I look around, I can justifiably claim: sofar, it’s been an exciting, thrilling lifewith highs and lows, marriages and divorces, hits and flops that I was allowed to live with a lot of friendships but, sadly, also a lot of hostility.”
Ralph Siegel
The multifarious life of „Mr Grand Prix”
He has been highly influential in shaping the German music scene for 50 years. With more than 2,000 songs released and 24 participations in the Grand Prix, one of them the grand victory with Nicole’s „Ein bisschen Frieden” in 1982, he is one of the most successful music producers in Germany. He has worked with countless well-known artists, among them Dschinghis Khan, Peter Alexander, and Udo Jürgens, and has promoted the group Silver Convention as well as political Kabarett artists Gerhard Polt and Willy Astor. A childhood at Chiemsee, music studios in the attic, short trips to gambling dens in Paris, the American Dream, the first successes and failures, women, the breakthrough – Ralph Siegel omits nothing and recounts the turning points and formative moments of his life with lots of humour. And practically en passant, he writes about half a century of exciting German and European music history.
