A FRIENDSHIP AND MANY QUESTIONS
»I still try to understand why I didn'tz realise anything back then.« – This thought has been haunting Renate Delfs for decades… She and Rike Schmid meet in 1999 during a fi lm shoot and form a friendship that has lasted until today. For many years, they exchange their views by writing letters. Soon, a central topic emerges: the time of Nazism that Renate Delfs experienced as a girl. »Did you feel a part of the system?«, »What did your everyday life look like?«, »When did you start to look closer?« – Questions that are on the younger woman’s mind and that the older one answers with great openness. A captivating and very personal dialogue between two women who can’t stop asking themselves: How can I lead a decent life in my own present?
